J.A. Baughman Award

The Commisssion on Archives & History sponsors an annual church history competition named in honor of Rev. John A. Baughman, a prominent founder of Methodist churches in southeastern Michigan during the nineteenth century.

Churches, groups, or individuals interested in this award can send in a written history, video history, or even the link to a website detailing the story of their church.

Contestants are under no strict guidelines. Past entries have included formal written histories complete with oral histories, video interviews with longtime congregants and church historians, photographs, building histories, and video/audio recordings of sermons and special services. The only limitation is imagination!
