Resident Bishops

Methodist Episcopal Church/Methodist Church/United Methodist Church of Michigan

Other Bishops with Michigan Ties

Two Michigan pastors fall outside of the direct line of Methodist Bishops. They served as ministers in the Michigan Conference of the United Brethren church and went on to become Bishops in the portion of that church which did not eventually become part of United Methodism. The United Brethren split in 1889 and the "New Constitution" group eventually merged with the Evangelical Church to form the Evangelical and United Brethren (EUB) Church. The "Old Constitution" United Brethren group is still in existence as a separate church and these two became Bishops in that church after the 1889 split.
